What started as something to help my kids with focus and discipline. Has turned into a life long journey to Black Belt Excellence for me. Having worked through the ranks myself over the last 6 years I can attest that the staff at the College of Martial Arts go well above and beyond in their teaching of Karate. Not just the physical side of it. But also, the mental side of it. Making sure that every child and adult student becomes the best version of themselves. Sensei and Sempai Burtney have created an atmosphere that is warm, friendly and welcoming to all that walk through the Dojo doors. I am thrilled to be a part of this Karate family. As sempai says, "I LOVE IT."

The College of Martial Arts is an exceptional dojo with a great staff and students. I joined the adult class six months ago and have loved learning the art of karate and self defense. Sensei, Senpai and all the instructors are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated to their craft. Since I started my training here, I've noticed a great improvement in my self confidence and physical fitness, and I plan to enroll my children when they are old enough so they can benefit from the same things. I highly recommend this dojo!

College of Martial Arts is not just a place for people to learn self defense, they treat everyone like family. My child has been on her way to black belt excellence for two and a half years now, inspired since day one. Sensei, Senpai, and all of their black belt instructors are the greatest role models a kid could have. The structure of their classes and curriculum are on point!
At only 8 years old in her first ever competition, she won a 1st place trophy because of all that she learned here. They built her up with confidence and integrity and I am proud of how hard she works on everything.
This is what she looks forward to most in life and she wants to teach karate in the future too. My 10 year old is more mature then most 20 year olds and it doesn't matter the age, they work very well with everyone!
The dojo is very clean, when I have a question they're easy to get ahold of, and they have special events too.
If you want your kid to grow up to be a great person, don't hesitate! This was the best decision we've ever made.

Highly recommended! Extremely friendly staff, knowledgeable instructors, encouraging students, well balanced and clean. My family has a great place to grow and build important life skills here. I will continue to support this business and participate as a parent, to watch my family grow confidence, balance and make friends in a healthy environment.

I started this school right before going to a new Highschool. I always struggled with self confidence and was bullied throughout elementary and middle school. Starting my martial arts journey in 2017 was the best decision that I made. I can't even express how amazing Sensei and senpai are. They helped me grow in more ways than they can imagine. I could talk about karate for hours and my friends can never hear the end of my karate stories. At the college of martial I discovered who I was and I am becoming the best version of myself. I continuously learn more about myself and develop my character everyday. They aren't just my Sensei and senpai, they are like family. I love all the students and families that make this facility come together! <3 here are a few pictures (of many) that I cherish.

Karate started as something for my 5-year-old son to do and remain active. My dad was walking by the Dojo and asked if he could sign my son up. I told him OK, thinking it would be a couple month thing and no big deal. Fast forward to 7 years later and I can honestly say that saying yes to signing him up was the best decision I have ever made as a mother.
Karate has taught my son about Confidence, Respect, Discipline, Leadership and Relationships:
Confidence:
Sensei and Senpai have become role models and family to my son. He is always wanting to make them proud and would be devastated if he ever disappointed them. They have made him confident and comfortable talking to adults and having conversations that most 12-year-old boys would find difficult to have.
The relationships that my son has built throughout his karate journey has been wonderful to watch. When he first began, he was just a shy little boy that would not talk to anyone, then he began friendships with a few of the other boys in the class, when he became a brown belt he developed friendships where he began talking to other people outside of the Dojo. When my son became a Junior Black Belt is when I noticed the most change. The friendships became like a family relationship. He would talk to multiple classmates outside of the Dojo, they would laugh and talk in a group chat amongst 4 or 5 of them. He also developed relationships with the black belts that are older than him who have watched him grow because when he first started, they were where he is now. The staff that Sensei and Senpai have around them is just as incredible as they are. My son has multiple friends from karate that he talks to outside of the Dojo and they range in age from 11-23. I love that he has such a variety of friends as each one has something to teach him as well. You never want anything bad to happen, but I can honestly say that I know if anything were to ever happen, he would have an amazing support system from his COMA family behind him to help him through anything that life throws at him.
His love for Karate is greatly in part because of Sensei and Senpai. I encourage any parent to enroll their child in The College of Martial Arts, because I know it was the best choice I ever made, and I would make the same choice one thousand times over again.
There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Sensei, Senpai and the College of Martial Arts family for everything that they have given/done for my son. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I am grateful that the College of Martial Arts is part of my village.

My son has been a student at COMA for almost 3 years. Sensei and his instructors are just wonderful with the kids. They lead with the perfect balance of humor and discipline. COMA has helped my son dramatically improve his focus and self-control. Most importantly, practicing the martial arts has built his confidence immensely! I am extremely grateful that COMA was the first Dojo we found when we decided to pursue martial arts. We could not be happier with our experience and I recommend COMA to anyone with an interest in karate.

We love CoMA! Sensei has the perfect balance of patience, tolerance, and command of respect from his students. I brought my son here expecting karate lessons but what we found is a 'karate community' far beyond just a place to learn how to be a ninja. Various kid/family events throughout the year are just one of the many extra things that make this place so special. The staff is exceptional as well!

One of the best Dojo's I have seen in a long time! There is a feeling of cleanliness when you walk in, showing that the owners really care about hygiene (I think that's a quality some studios lack). The instructors are kind and friendly, and really aim to make the children's time at the Dojo fun and enjoyable. They place a GREAT focus on character growth, such as respect, gratitude and discipline, in addition to the self defense training. The College of Martial Arts is like a second school.

I absolutely love love love CoMA! My son has been going here for just over a year. He has gained so much in that time. He is more confident and has matured in many ways. He enjoys helping the newer students, as well as looking up to the older instructors. He has gained discipline and its helped with listening to other adults. Sensi Burtney really has a way with kids. He keeps it light and fun, and yet still has the grace to keep class organized and disciplined. The school is very family oriented and I just cannot say enough good things about this school! I highly recommend College of Martial Arts.

Our son has been going to College of Martial Arts for several years. This is an excellent karate school. The instructors are awesome teachers. Not only are they teaching the art of karate, but they also instill in the kids teachings about respect, relationships, appreciating others, and how to interact with other kids and adults. In addition, the COMA is a community. We have gotten to know other families throughout the years. Five stars. If there were ten I'd give them 10 stars!

This Dojo came highly recommended to us by a friend. Both of my sons attend COMA. This Dojo is absolutely AMZAING! Sensei Ryan is wonderful with the kids. The black belts are amazing as well and work so well with the younger kids. They are truly looked up too. This Dojo teaches the kids so much more than Karate, they teach and expect the children to have Respect and discipline. My sons have been attending for about 2 years and I am so glad we gave karate a chance. My 2 sons love it and it has turned into a passion. Thank you to everyone at COMA that has made this experience Excellent!

Nothing but exceptional. Sensei Burtney is a fantastic teacher, and works hard every day for the students. He is actively learning new ways to become a more effective teacher and a better martial artist and that mindset really impacts the students. He has an incredible staff as well who are excellent with the kids and provide differing teaching styles to accommodate every type of student.

The Dojo is very well cleaned and is always being improved. The pricing is very reasonable, and the standard of excellence is incredibly high.

Sensei Burtney is an amazing instructor. The children are very responsive to him and he teaches them well. I recommend College of Martial Arts to everyone. I have two children training. They have been training at this dojo for over a year. All of the staff are friendly, professional and helpful. We have several other dojos closer to where we live but would rather drive a bit further to have a superior experience and training.
